Hounds Named to Under-17 Team

The Soo Greyhounds are pleased to announce that centre Chris Lawrence has been named to the Ontario Under-17 team that will compete in the 2004 World Hockey Challenge. The event takes place December 26th to January 4th, 2004 in St. John's, Newfoundland.  Soo Greyhounds prospect Kyle Gajewski, a goaltender has also been named to the squad.


Lawrence, the Soo's first pick in the 2003 Ontario Hockey League draft has 2 goals, 4 assists and 6 points in 24 games this season.  Lawrence was excited about the news. “It's a great honour”, said Lawrence.  “I'm looking forward to the challenge of playing against the top players in the province.”


Kyle Gajewski, a native of London, Ontario was the Hounds fourth round selection in the 2003 draft. He is playing with the Chatham Maroons of the Western Junior B hockey league.


The Soo Greyhounds congratulate Chris and Kyle for their acheivement.
