Bailey Brkin now knows what Christian Propp and Ethan Taylor went through.
For the first time in his seven games with the Soo Greyhounds, the overage netminder was left to his own devices on Saturday.
The Hounds committed numerous turnovers, resulting in odd-man rushes en route to an 8-3 loss to the Sarnia Sting before 3,925 at GFL Memorial Gardens.
“We hung him right out to dry,” said Hounds head coach John Dean, whose team held a territorial advantage for the majority of the game, outshooting the visitors 45-27. “We were sloppy with the puck and we made some really-bad decisions. We gave up too many Grade A chances on turnovers.”
The Soo’s most-glaring miscues led to three Sarnia goals in a span of 5:02 midway through the second period.
That gave the Sting a 5-1 lead.
