Frechette, Zeppa and Timchenko selected in U18 Priority Selection

The Soo Greyhounds made a trio of picks earlier tonight as part of the 2019 OHL U18 Priority Selection.
The third annual event involved players born in 2001 and 2002 who participated in Midget AAA programs across the province this past season.

With their first round selection (17th overall), the Hounds selected centreman ALEXANDRE FRECHETTE from the Navan Grads Midget AAA hockey club.
The 5.09, 160lb native of Gloucester ON appeared in 44 regular season games this past season where he tallied 29 goals and 27 assists, good for 56 points.

In the second round (37th overall), Sault Ste. Marie product NOAH ZEPPA (shown) was chosen by the the program.
This past season the 5.09, 150lb netminder was named the Great North Midget League regular season MVP after appearing in 23 regular season games played.

While with their third pick (54th overall), centre/left-winger ALEXANDER TIMCHENKO was chosen by the Hounds.
A native of Toronto, Ontario, Timchenko played with the Mississauga Rebels Midget club where he had 7 goals and 4 assists.
