Overager Tammela acquired by Greyhounds

Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis announced a transaction on Tuesday morning prior to the OHL’s 12 noon overage deadline.

In the acquisition, the Greyhounds acquire the rights to Finnish winger JONNE TAMMELA (1997-08-05) from the Peterborough Petes in exchange of a 15th Round Pick in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection (conditional).

Tammela, a native of Ylivieska, FIN is a signed prospect of the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lighting after originally being selected in the 4th Round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft

The 5.10, 186 forward has been skating in Syracuse, NY following an injury last season that limited him to two games with the Petes.

Internationally, Tammela won a silver medal with Team Finland at the 2015 U18 tournament.
