MacIntyre signs One-Year AHL Deal with Monsters

CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Monsters, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, announced Wednesday that the team has signed goaltender Ivan Kulbakov and left wing BOBBY MACINTYRE to one-year AHL contracts for the 2017-18 season. Both undrafted players participated in the Blue Jackets’ 2017 Development Camp as free-agent invitees.
A 6’0”, 183 lb. native of Gomel, Belarus, Kulbakov, 20, posted a record of 30-16-1 with five shutouts, a 1.93 goals-against average, and a .919 save percentage in 52 appearances for the USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms last season. Kulbakov capped the 2016-17 campaign among the USHL’s league-leaders in appearances (T1st), wins (T2nd), shutouts (T1st), goals-against average (4th) and save percentage (T7th). Kulbakov has additionally represented Belarus in international competition and logged time with HK Gomel in the Belarusian professional ranks.
A 5’9”, 192 lb., left-handed native of Oshawa, ON, MacIntyre, 20, supplied 28-52-80 in 63 appearances for the OHL’s Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds last season, along with 56 penalty minutes and a +30 rating. In five OHL seasons from 2012-17, MacIntyre logged 69-114-183 with 206 penalty minutes and a -18 rating in 306 combined appearances for the Mississauga Steelheads and Sault Ste. Marie.
The Cleveland Monsters are part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena organization and also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Majority Owner and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. The group also owns and operates the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League playing at Quicken Loans Arena and the Canton Charge of the NBA G League playing in nearby Canton, Ohio at the Canton Civic Center.
